Chapter 8: Plug-ins and UI translations
The goal of this chapter is to briefly describe how the user can take advantage of the Qt framework and pgModeler's codebase to extend its features and how the UI can be properly translated into the user's language. These two topics are a bit advanced, and the reading of this chapter is recommended only if you intend to create your own set of features in pgModeler or want to contribute to the UI translation into your native language.
The main advantage of being developed with Qt is that pgModeler can make use of the advanced features offered by this powerful framework. Because of that, the tool is capable of having its features extended through the use of plug-ins without changing a single line of code in its core. Another interesting feature is the user interface translation, which enables pgModeler to read compiled dictionaries and translate all the terms on its interface to the user's preferred language. These features are advanced ones and require some good knowledge of C++ programming and the use of Qt tools as well.
