Chapter 6: Advanced tools

This chapter presents the advanced tools of pgModeler. They cover different portions of the modeling process and of database administration, which shows how powerful and flexible the tool is while improving the user's productivity. The tools are grouped by what they are used for:

• Inspecting the model: the model overview, the magnifier, the model objects and layers panels, the object search and the source code preview. They make it easier to see and find things in large models.
• Quality and safety: the model validation, the model fix tool, the operations history, model restoration, the model changelog and the swap of object IDs. They keep a model correct and recoverable.
• Working with databases: the SQL tool, which explores database structures, runs typed SQL commands or code snippets and handles the data of tables and views, and the handling of objects metadata.
• Automation and support: the command-line interface, to automate tasks without the graphical interface, and the crash handler with the bug report.
