Chapter 2: Modeling basics
This chapter presents the everyday work of modeling in pgModeler, in two groups of pages:
- Working on the canvas: how to navigate and select objects, zoom and align, create objects with the quick actions menu and the new object overlay, copy, protect and follow the dependencies between objects.
- Working with forms: the fields and editors that appear in the editing forms of most objects (basic fields, version specific fields, the data type field, code completion, custom SQL and source code inputs).
If this is your first contact with the tool, read Getting started first: it walks through a first model and explains the vocabulary used here. Once you know the basics, the next chapter details each object and its editing form.
